My husband tells me that I must support him and our family, but I want to support my parents. What is the ruling on this issue?<\/p>\n<p>Islamically, you are not required to support his family. His parents and the children are his responsibility. If you want to help out in supporting him then that is out of the kindness of your heart. He is required to support you, not vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>As for your own income, that is strictly yours to do with as you please. You can support your parents if you please, though it is the obligation of the eldest son.
