To learn more about what we do, click on one of the five core functions listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Religious Services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its five core functions, I.M.A.M. offers <a href=\"https:\/\/imam-us.org\/religious-services\">religious services<\/a> in the following areas. These services are in addition to religious prayer and commemoration services that are held throughout the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seeking religious edicts for new issues facing the North American community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Answering individuals\u2019 and communities\u2019 jurisprudence questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performing divorce by religious authority when other solutions have been exhausted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Religious Education<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A second part of I.M.A.M.\u2019s&nbsp; five core functions is to promote <a href=\"https:\/\/imam-us.org\/religious-education\">Religious Education<\/a> as in: <br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cultivating an Islamic lifestyle of strong faith and good citizenry for the North American community <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing Islamic education and practice through various mediums to the far reaches of our community <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sponsoring ambitious students from our various communities to study in Hawzah Islamic studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Managing Charity &amp; Dues<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A third core function of I.M.A.M., and one of the most requested by the North American community, is the <a href=\"https:\/\/imam-us.org\/managing-charity-dues\">Managing of Charity &amp; Dues<\/a>, specifically: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accepting Khums and other religious dues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting Islamic Institutions in obtaining permission for accepting and utilizing Khums<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distribution of charity and dues for religious needs and development in the North American community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hawzah (Seminary) Liaison<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A fourth core function of I.M.A.M. can be seen in its capacity as a <a href=\"https:\/\/imam-us.org\/hawzah-liason\">Hawzah Liaison<\/a>, namely in: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establishing a connection, by bringing the messages of the Marjayea to the North American Community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inviting senior scholars from the Hawzah to visit North America to gain a better understanding of our community\u2019s daily challenges and issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a platform between local scholars and experts with those in the Hawzah to exchange scholarly expertise in order to enhance religious and social development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Cohesion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The fifth core function of I.M.A.M. focuses on <a href=\"https:\/\/imam-us.org\/community-cohesion\">Community Cohesion<\/a>, namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creating a nexus between the various places of worship to develop a cohesive support structure for each other<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitating gatherings of scholars and experts to create unified strategies in order to address current issues facing our North American communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mediating and arbitrating conflicts between different groups of believers and places of worship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This core function has been a cornerstone of I.M.A.M.\u2019s activities throughout North America, by visiting Islamic organizations across the continent, hosting programs and conferences, and most notably, by conducting inter-faith and intra-faith meetings and project, as well as, supporting the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya (I.M.A.M.), the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":24535,"featured_media":8026,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"templates\/page-with-right-sidebar.php","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-868","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Core Functions of IMAM | Islamic Services in North America<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"From Religious Services to Community Cohesion, we at IMAM are here for you!
